Two Juveniles Arrested in Allentown After Encounter with Police

ALLENTOWN, PA. - In the early hours of Thursday morning, two juveniles were taken into custody following an incident with the police in Allentown.


According to a news release from the Allentown Police Department, an officer on patrol heard gunshots in the vicinity of 12th and Gordon streets at around 2 a.m.


Upon investigation, the officer encountered three juvenile males. As the officers approached the boys, one of them attempted to flee from the area. The officer pursued the individual and successfully apprehended him.



During the process of taking the fleeing juvenile into custody, the police discovered that he was in possession of a loaded firearm, as stated in the news release. Meanwhile, the remaining juveniles surrounded the officer, creating a tense situation.


Another boy was subsequently taken into custody for failing to disperse and also spitting on one of the officers.




The first juvenile is facing charges of firearms not to be carried without a license, flight to avoid apprehension, and possession of a firearm by a minor.


As for the second boy, authorities have charged him with aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest, and harassment.
