Two pedestrians died as a result of a motor vehicle accident on Hamilton Street in Allentown

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Two pedestrians died early Sunday morning as a result of a motor vehicle accident, according to the Allentown Police.


At approximately 1:16 am on Sunday, December 10, Allentown Police, Fire, and EMS responded to the 300 block of Hamilton Street.



Upon arrival, two pedestrians were located and transported by AEMS to a local hospital.

A 43-year-old woman and a 44-year-old male were both pronounced dead in the Emergency Department at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, where they both succumbed to their injuries, according to the Coroner's office.


According to the Lehigh County Coroner, the woman was pronounced dead at 1:56 a.m., the man was pronounced dead at 2:44 a.m..


The names of the individuals are not being released at this time until the families have been notified, according to the Lehigh County Coroner.


The operator of the motor vehicle was not injured.


The accident is being investigated by the Allentown Police Traffic Reconstruction Unit, the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office, and the Lehigh County Coroner's Office.
