WGOLV.COM - Val Kilmer’s cause of death has been revealed.
The beloved actor, who passed away on April 1 at the age of 65, died from pneumonia, according to TMZ.
The Hollywood actor was well known for his roles in “Top Gun” and “Batman Forever.”
A death certificate from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, obtained by the outlet, listed pneumonia as the immediate cause, with other underlying medical conditions contributing to his death.

He was living with squamous cell carcinoma at the base of his tongue and suffered from Hypoxemic respiratory failure and chronic respiratory failure, according to the document.
Acute hypoxemic respiratory failure is described as “a condition where there is insufficient oxygen in the body’s tissues (hypoxia) or excessive carbon dioxide in the blood (hypercapnia),” according to The Cleveland Clinic.
Other factors noted on the death certificate include malnutrition and a tracheocutaneous fistula.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and loved ones.
If you enjoy the articles and content of What's going on in the Lehigh Valley, a donation (or giving to a coffee fund) would be greatly appreciated to help with the ongoing costs and time involved each day. All news articles and content have been 100% free of charge for over 14 years. Independent Journalism relies on community support to continue - without donations (even a 1.00 would be so helpful), it could likely no longer be in your news feed. Last year's donations drives (crowdfunding efforts) amounted to "zero being donated," and continued to provide the same content on the Facebook page and articles daily without pay. We've had some sporadic ones here and there, but not enough to sustain the costs and time involved in doing this daily. Donations raised last year accounted for less than 500.00 total.
